I don't know them well enough, but my guess would be the Apple Dumpling Gang...Tim Conway & Don Knotts. Just because they're funny and would be very comical. Our dogs were always funny when they did stuff together. Plus they're some of my favorite actors.
or maybe Andy Griffith and Don Knotts. Andy being Guff with his solid character, gentle hand and good training. Duncan, well, Don being Duncan who is a wishful wannabe.
